CJ ‘bibigo’ Promotes Korean Food through PGA TOUR Tournaments

Korea’s CJ Group, one of the 2018 Fortune Global 500, is well-recognized as the forerunner in spreading Korean culture worldwide. With CJ Entertainment & Media leading the charge as the producer of popular Korean music, dramas, and movies, CJ has contributed to the growth of K-Culture popularity, as per an official release.

CJ recently announced that they will be sponsoring seven PGA TOUR tournaments starting with the 2019 Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. CJ ‘bibigo’ concession stand featured grab & go style food items, such as Bibi-Cone, Korean Fried Chicken Bites, Korean Galbi Taco, Crispy Mandu, and Cheese Wonton Fries. All food items, introduced as great finger foods to enjoy, received rave reviews from everyone trying these delicious foods for the first time, according to the release.

As per the release, CJ CheilJedang also arranged an autograph-signing event in front of the concession booth with CJ-affiliated golfers like Si Woo Kim, Whee Kim, and Sung Jae Im.  The signing event and promotional activities attracted many visitors to the CJ booth. Si Woo Kim went on to place solo 3rd in the tournament with the score of 12-under.

According to the release, CJ CheilJedang believes that the official sponsorship of this competition was an excellent opportunity to promote ‘bibigo’ around the world and it plans to continue sponsoring six more PGA TOUR events in the U.S. throughout this year in addition to hosting THE CJ CUP in Korea for the third year. “We received positive reviews from the customers at the Genesis Open,” said Eun-kyung Sohn, CJ CheilJedang Marketing Executive. “We will be at the Players Championship and other PGA TOUR tournaments to help ‘bibigo’ grow into a global brand representing CJ CheilJedang, and to lead the Korean food globalization fever by using ‘bibigo’ to tout the excellence and legitimacy of Korean food around the world.”
